Small Victories and Remembering to Sing

As this is my first post, I wanted to start by explaining that orange is my "life color," as it corresponds to the key of D major. Somehow or another, I feel highly-vibrated when I hear or play in the key of D major. My soul "sings in tune" with the key of D. To that end, I have placed various orange-colored objects in my bedroom. I should also explain that it is more of a yellow-orange, and not a "jello orange." (I am not sure why this makes a difference, but it does. It's like when you get in the shower and you know exactly the degree of hot you want the water. Same principle.) Having different objects that color around helps remind me to sing. Sometimes, life gets difficult and we forget to sing.

Lately, I have had very large challenges placed before me and things have gotten tough. But I found somethings to raise my vibration levels and it brought me back here to tell you about it. I originally started this blog page about two years or so ago, and never did much with it. I have so many creative ideas, sometimes I think I must be part ADD. So there you go - this post is a "small victory."

Another small victory, that is getting larger: I am growing a flower. A snapdragon, to be precise. I should preface to say that in the past, I have been a terrible plant grower and I do NOT have a green thumb by any stretch of the imagination. Up until now, every one I have attempted to grow has died a horrible, twitching death. When something told me I could grow this little flower from a seed, I was so excited about it and I wanted to do it immediately.

I told my son I think I want to grow a flower and that I could do it, and he immediately gasped and said, "Mommy! What about Ralph!?" "Ralph" was our former fern. He didn't make it. I think I over-watered him. Poor Ralph. I still feel bad about it and it was about a year and a half ago. However, in the wake of Ralph's shadow, comes Vlad. Vlad the Snapdragon got so big for his small Easter egg enclosure, that he needed a new "apartment." Therefore, Vlad the Snapdragon now has a more spacious planter all to himself and I could not be more thrilled that he is still with me. Something like this may be a very small thing to some of you, but to someone like me who has never had luck growing a plant, this is very major.

I have had a revelation that I will be growing more soon, and the idea of vertical gardens is really appealing to me. I am also about to embark upon a new adventure into the world of zen gardening. I am so very excited to share my ideas with all of you! I am a highly-creative person and I love to create things from nothing, mostly having to do with decorating or enhancing a space or existence.
