One Woman's Bulletin Board(s)

Ok. I have to redesign my workspace. This leads me to ask the burning question of what I wish to do with my bulletin board. A bulletin board, in and of itself, is a fabulous tool. It can be a vision statement, a memoir space, or, it can be filled with miniature surprises of intellect, color or ideas.

So, what then, is the line that separates "tool" from "clutter magnet", a "vision board" from "stuff I gotta put somewhere"? I am indecisive at this point because depending on the day, I either love or hate my bulletin board. I only hate it because sometimes, it looks like a lot of clutter to me. Other days, I can look at the same board and feel inspired because of the colors, items, or words on the pages attached to it.

To this end, I have decided to put it somewhere, where I have control over when I see it. I put it on the outside of my door to my room. That way, it is not "in my face" all the time. I might also add, I have a very small apartment, so it is difficult to find a space where it will not be omnipresent.

I might also add, I have not one, but TWO, bulletin boards. One is for "creative" things, and one is for job-related, or "real world" ventures. I have been working on combining both into one LARGE bulletin board. So instead of having two smaller boards, I will have one large one. Then of course, one has to redesign the large board. I'm working on that now. But for the time being, I have attached them to the front side of my bedroom door. It's nice to have my wall back.

I'd love to hear from you - and send pictures! - about your bulletin board. Do you have more than one? What would you say the main use for it is? How did you design it? I find these things interesting because these are very personal decisions and I like to know my readers' thought processes. I'll bet a lot of you have awesome ideas! I'd love to see them!
